Roca Barcelona Gallery opens this impressive exhibition to raise awareness of the serious problem of plastic waste that floods all the oceans, causing not a single square kilometre of seawater to be free of plastic particles.

Every year, between 8 and 12 million tons of trash from poorly managed waste reach the sea around the five continents, and of these, 15% moves across the surface of the sea, another 15% reaches the coasts and the rest sinks to the bottom of the sea.

The centre of this exhibition displays floating plastic waste from various oceans in an installation where visitors can trace its origins and life cycle. In another section, the background to the problem, the impact they generate and the solutions to this crisis are presented to encourage citizens to take action.

The exhibition, created by the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, the Zurich Design Museum, in association with the Drosos Foundation, has travelled to over 20 cities in Europe and Asia, generating a great impact that is helping to raise awareness.
