SPARK - Festival for children and youth
Garbage Animal Workshop
Saturday, 18 May, 12 noon to 4 pm, free admission
Do you have a one-legged Barbie doll lying around, a freezer box that lost its cover, or colourful plastic bags? Bring them along to Spark, they are still useful in building the Garbage Animal. The workshop compiles a collective animal sculpture with useless and thrown-away plastic objects as material. The workshop is part of the Out to Sea? exhibition organised by TR1 Kunsthalle in Cooperation with the Culture Education Unit TAITE and the Rupriikki Media Museum.
he sea is in distress and needs our help! During the functional museum tour, we follow the journey of plastic from the factory to sea animal food and finally back to our plates. How is plastic produced? Are all objects necessary? What kind of use can you find for a broken bracelet or a cell phone cover?

Operation Northern Fulmar
The sea is in distress and needs our help! During the functional museum tour, we follow the journey of a plastic toy from the factory, the shop, home, and finally to the sea as plastic debris. How is plastic made? Are all objects necessary? Along the way, we learn about sorting, invent environment-friendly outdoor games and help the Fulmar in trouble. This rescue operation will not go unrewarded.
Age recommendation: 6 to 8
